I'm Yani Marx — CPA, former Top 20 firm partner, and the person AI companies and accounting firms call when they need someone who actually understands how the work gets done.
You need a CPA who can validate your workflows, catch edge cases, and bring practitioner credibility to your product and go-to-market.
For vendorsYou need someone who speaks both languages — the technology and the practice — to make your platform switch actually stick.
For accounting firmsI'm not a coder. I'm not an AI builder. I'm a CPA who has spent 15+ years in public accounting — including time as a partner at a Top 20 firm — and who never stopped paying attention to the technology side.
That's the gap TaxStackIQ sits in: the person who understands how firms actually operate, what workflows really look like under client pressure, and where new tools can step in without breaking what's already working.
Read my full story →20 minutes. No pitch. Just a conversation about whether I can help.
Book a discovery call →The story behind TaxStackIQ — why I started it, who I help, and the perspective I bring that you can't buy off the shelf.
I almost double-majored in accounting and information systems 20 years ago. I chose tax — but the technology side never left me.
For 15 years I built a career in public accounting, eventually as a partner at a Top 20 firm. I sat close to the technology decisions but rarely got to make them. When I co-founded my own practice, picking the stack was one of the things I was most excited about. Then AI changed the conversation entirely.
What I realized is this: the firms that win the next decade won't be the ones with the flashiest tools. They'll be the ones that picked the right tools for their workflow, integrated them properly, and managed the change well enough that their teams actually used them.
That's harder than it sounds. I've watched large firms lose millions in revenue because the technology was right but the change management wasn't. I've watched small firms buy software that solved one problem and created three new ones. Over 15 years across both enterprise and closely held environments, I've learned what actually holds up under real client pressure — and what doesn't.
I'm not a coder. I'm not an AI builder. I'm the person who understands how firms actually operate, what the workflows really look like, and where new tools can step in without breaking what's already working.
That's the gap TaxStackIQ sits in.
Process design starts with how the work really gets done — not how a vendor thinks it should.
The goal isn't more tools. It's the right tools, integrated properly, used consistently.
Buy-in matters more than features. I've seen firms lose millions to bad change management.
I bring CPA-level expertise into your product process — before your customers find the gaps. Accounting-first perspective on workflow, validation, and go-to-market credibility.
Product feedback from a real CPA perspective. I tell you what accountants will trust, where they'll hesitate, and where the friction lives — before your customers find it. Works as a recurring engagement or project-based review.
The deeper engagement. I sit close to your product team and bring the accounting-first perspective on how the work should flow — mapping real-world workflows, identifying integration gaps, and shaping feature priorities based on actual firm pain points.
Need a real CPA to lead webinars for your users, make your demo credible, or put a name behind your thought leadership? 15+ years of hands-on experience — on your timeline, for your specific need.

Book a discovery call →I help accounting firms choose the right stack, build the workflows, and bring your team along — so the investment actually pays off.
Full assessment of your current stack, workflows, and pain points. Vendor evaluation and recommendations based on your actual needs — not the loudest marketing. Custom roadmap prioritized by impact and effort, with honest answers on what to adopt now, what to wait on, and what to skip entirely.
The piece most firms get wrong. Hands-on implementation from kickoff through adoption. Workflow redesign so new tools fit your firm — not the other way around. Team training and change management built around how people actually learn new systems.
Most implementation consultants know one world. I've lived in both. At a Top 20 firm, I navigated enterprise-level platform changes with complex approval chains and hundreds of users. At a closely held practice, I'm the one doing the migration, training, and troubleshooting — all while serving clients. That range matters because every firm's implementation is different.
Defined scope, defined deliverable, defined timeline. Best for assessments, evaluations, and discrete implementation work.
Monthly engagement with a set number of hours. Best for ongoing advisory or firms partway through a longer transition.
Half-day or full-day sessions for your team. Best for firm-wide training or platform launches.
Pricing is engagement-specific. Let's start with a conversation about what you actually need.
